Advocacy

Our advocacy work is fundamentally centered on the crucial need to accentuate and protect the human rights of persons affected by devastating infectious diseases, including Leprosy, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), and Tuberculosis (TB). We believe that the fight against these diseases must not be overlooked, particularly in the face of other global health crises. This protection must extend across diagnosis, treatment, and the formation of policies and legislation, while transforming the attitudes of society in general. A primary pillar of our efforts is promoting social inclusion and tackling the persistent, debilitating issues of stigma and discrimination. We actively address the societal prejudice faced by persons affected by leprosy and their families, as well as the pervasive stigma associated with TB. To enhance the quality of life for these individuals, we focus on strengthening the capacity of organizations dedicated to persons with disabilities (PWDs) and persons affected by leprosy. This involves dedicated effort to promote the Disability Act, securing rights, and ensuring full social inclusion. Our scope on NTDs is extensive, targeting states that are endemic for conditions like Onchocerciasis and Lymphatic Filariasis (LF), which often manifest with chronic debilitating skin lesions and associated disfigurement, putting individuals at high risk of permanent physical impairments. We also work to reduce the burden of CM-NTDs (Cutaneous Manifestations of NTDs), such as Buruli ulcer and Yaws, through strategies like integrated case-finding and reconstructive surgeries.

We work with local, national, and international partners to expand our reach and strengthen impact. These include state ministries of health, community-based organizations, and global health institutions. Together, we improve access, build capacity, and deliver lasting change.

We provide services for people affected by leprosy, tuberculosis, and other neglected diseases. Our work covers early case detection, treatment, rehabilitation, health education, and psychosocial support. We focus on reaching underserved communities through integrated, person-centered approaches.
